I would to know if someone has recently flown to colombia with their dog checked in flying inside a crate. Give me current details of all the hassles that you went to arrive in colombia.

We flew from Panama to Medellin this past November 2018,  with our two dogs in cargo. No hassle at all except for worrying about them. We flew on Copa and the airline was excellent to deal with.
Go to the ICA site for details on what is required here: https://www.ica.gov.co/importacion-y-ex … lang=en-us

Make sure you have your original and copies of all the dogs' paperwork from the airline and of course all the Vet/medical forms that are required with you.

Once you land and show your customs form, ( Make sure you state you are bringing dogs in on the form!!! ) tell them you need a copy of that form to get your dogs. This we did not know about and it cost us an extra hour.

The facility is off site of the airport. At the time all these buildings were brand new and just beginning operations so the exact location may have changed for each office.
You will need to pay for the dogs at Transareo for the ground handling fees. Take the receipt from them and your copy of your customs form, and vet records to the customs office. It is close by on the second floor. You will pay them a small fee and get a receipt.
Take that receipt, copy of customs form, receipt from Transareo, and all the dogs vet records to the ICA office located close by. There they will issue you the Certificado De Inspeccion Sanitaria de Animals.
With that certificate, you go back to Transareo and they will release your dogs to you.

We hired a Facilitator to assist us and are very glad we did. If you are fluent in Spanish you can do it on your own.

PM if you have any additional questions.

Good luck!
