Actually, I don't know if he could even get $12/day as he probably doesn't speak Vietnamese.

It's not sarcastic.  It's the actual wage earned by Vietnamese construction laborers.  What did you think it would pay?

You didn't ask for others to make a judgment call as to whether it's "worth it" to work in construction here.

You simply asked about possibilities.

I think "Bud and Lou" did a great job of giving you the basic info...even if they did get a smile out of me.
