Hello
My same sex EU (UK) citizen and I (Canadian) have applied for residency of myself using EU family law. We lived together for 4 years in England before the application. We have been advised the VISA in our passports has been approved and are just awaiting the Biometrics card. Does the IND take the full 6 months to issue the Resident Card or do they issue sometimes before!?  I'm wanting to apply for a replacement Canadian passport and not sure if the Canadian Embassy in London will keep my old passport and need the resident card before I send my passport off.

If anyone can help let me know

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Previous forum members have reported it taking approximately 2 weeks for the IND to issue residency permits.

Your old Canadian passport will be returned to you.

Hope this helps.

Hello
We already have the visa in our passports. It is the EU citizen card we are awaiting. Any experiences in the 6 months?
