the 90 days in the 180

Hi there, so I am assuming that for a US Citizen, you can visit as many times as you want in a 180 day period as long as the total of the visiting days don't go over 90? Or does the "90 day clock" start over again each time you visit? My 18 year old may want to come for lots of short visits. But if she comes for say 60 days in the summer, and then wants to come some more days later, does it just need to not go over 90 in 180? Pls advise.

The clock does not start again

Ah ok. So within a 180 day period she can only stay a total of 90 days (consecutive or not). Then after the 180 the clock starts again and counting visit days starts again?

Yep, that sums it up.  These visas are generally known as a "Schengen Visa",  You can go to Schengenvisainfo.com and get info on how to apply.

Hope this helps.

Ok well as we are from the USA I guess she wouldn't need a visa at all for this kind of visit. I'm sure she wouldn't want to stay that long anyway but just in case she did spend a summer there, she can't go over 90 days but she also has to watch how many days within the six month period even if they aren't consecutive, she can't go over 90.
