Hello everyone,

As a consumer in Singapore, you may seek to maintain a healthy lifestyle by choosing mostly organic products. If you do favour such products, we would like to know more about your consumption habits.

Is it easy to find organic products in Singapore (cosmetics, food, etc.)? Where can we find them?

Are organic products more or less expensive than in your country of origin? What average monthly budget do you spend on them?

Can we rely on labels on organic products in Singapore? Are the origins of the products verified by an organization?

Are organic products part of Singaporean culture? Have you ever tried to make your own organic products (candles, toothpaste, gardening, food)?

In your opinion, is the consumption of organic products only a fad or does it have real benefits on one’s health?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

Bhavna

Singapore was, and still is, a laggard when it comes to anything organic or environmentally friendly.
There are three organic farms in Singapore (in the remote Neo Tiew/Kranji/Lim Chu Kang area), which deliver their products to your doorstep and are also available at some supermarkets. When I tried one of them, a number of years ago, the service was unprofessional and chaotic. It might have improved by now.
On the other hand, visiting these farms is among the rare chances in Singapore (e.g. for kids) to see real agriculture in action - and the area is one of the very few possibilities to see a different, almost lost side of Singapore.
The farms offer guided tours and Bollywood Veggies also has a vegetarian restaurant. Some also accept volunteers and WWOOFers.

Here is a list:

    - Quan Fa (quanfaorganic.com.sg)
