Gd day guys;
Hope all in going well & would like to wish all chinese celebrating Lunar New Year '2020... ("Gong Xi Fai Chai"/
Heng Ong Huat Ah!)
I would like seek your feedback/advice on how bad the situation is, on the sales of "Fake Consumables" that are being sold openly in your area.
Below I've listed a few 'Consumables'. I've left out other Fakes products that are not being consumed!!!!
For example I have also come across alerts both from the GMA news flash as well as from my personal experience.
a) Fake Rice
b) Fake Cooking Oil
c) Fake Brandy/Whiskey
b) Fake Cigarettes (More/Marlboro)
c) Fake Noodles
d) Fake Asprin Tablets (Bayer)
e) Fake Viagara Tablets
f) Fake Diabetic Medication
It worries me somewhat as to how openly these products are being peddled at markets/retail shops and theron being purchased by unsuspecting consumers thinking they are getting a good offer/deal.
Your feedback and advice would be most appreciated.
Thank you.

Buy only brand name products at reputable drugstores or markets.
Thanks Robel;
Hahahaha!!!!..."Reputable"... there are NOT too many such shops here.
I do agree that would "reduce" the risk somewhat, but even here you get the so called "Reputable" stores selling fake Cigarettes & who knows what else.
As for medicinal consumables : Yes I do stick to "Watsons/Mercury/Rose" pharmacies if the need arises.
Thanks again.
Hi Fred;
Thanks for your feedback.
.Hahahaha..if you do get a "headache" make sure you don't buy any fake Asprin/Panadol, and stick with the reputable pharmacies.
But seriously I do see some of the poorer residents shop at these non-reputable shops which is a worry.

Anyone buying that off the street needs a real head doctor.
they will need an undertaker
How about Fake Women? . . . . . ha ha ha.
While in the states my wife (10 years) & I sent many Balikbayan back to the Philippines with real stuff, non food stuff. We would pay through the nose for branded stuff for her family and friends. My wifes favorite hobby while in the states was handbags & matching shoes.
Once we got to the Philippines, home of counterfeit stuff, everyone is wearing mostly fake branded stuff. In the states an average sneaker is $110 and Nike Jordan's $145, but at Green Hills $20/$25.
I laugh when I tell my wife , that her expensive bag looks like the same bag that somebody who could only afford Pag Pag to feed her family.
Regarding Nike Jordans, many teenagers in poorer areas in the states have lost their life fighting over prevention of theft of their shoes.
And, watch out for Lazada, Shopper, and AliExpress. They sell counterfeit products, as well.
Ever see the guy with the bucket of honey that has a chunk of honeycomb in it? He will fill a bottle for you using a ladle. Good deal!
I used to be a beekeeper.
FAKE honey.
There is s simple test you can do. Put a large-ish drop on the nail of your thumb. Balance it there. Does it sit there retaining its shape, or does it dribble off your finger? Real honey just sits there.
Try twisting a small piece of paper tightly into a wick like shape. Pour some of the honey on the tip of it (or dip the wick). Will it burn if you light it with a match? Real honey will burn. Fake honey will not.
Honey in the Philippines? Most likely molasses from sugar cane.
There is nothing that comes to mind that I have not seen obviously counterfeited. Who knows how many well crafted fakes are on the shelves.
But what do you expect in such a society, mostly poor, consumer driven by the media, and the minimal consumer protection laws with "enforcement" that is well not enforced.
Just look at the grandiose claims for various supplements, like the old snake oil sales man days, the poor man's solution to health care. Claims that would never be heard in more consumer protective countries.
"LemSaDiplog"...agreed.

We jus got to stay away fm the "Counterfeit Consumables" : things that actually go into the human digestive system.
I guess the other items are pretty much unavoidable in the philippines.
links above are the full breakdown of Counterfeit items in the philippines. (I've seen more than this!!!!)
Regards.

Agreed W9XR, its more like loads & loads of "Fake love" too...hahaha!!!
I was at S&R today, and they put my our purchases in a box with a picture of a bat!!
For some reason, Chinese Restaurants are not serving their Bat Soup.

Hahaha..that's because "BAT SOUP" is pretty expensive here!....not easy to catch those suckers!!!
They have loads of "RAT SOUP" though wif portable black wings made wif rice flour & very more affordable.
Cheers.
We should be thankful for all of the wonderful things the Chinese have brought to the Philippines:
Wuhan Bat Flu
African Swine Fever
H1N51 Bird Flu
So, just what can we eat now?

You can have our bats. I am sick of them stealing my Indian almonds.

gmo rice®
Damn, I eat rice every meal, as is. I can't eat seafood because of histamine intolerance.
Now, a 3rd Chinese Anthrax blanket has been found to have Wuhan Bat Flu. Traveled to Bohol by ferry to infect others while on vacation. Right now, I might have to pass sitting next to a Chinese on a ferry.
"Garlic"...rush and grab a few cloves, then slowly nibble & Cough Loudly;
A) Guy/Gal sitting next to you will move.
B) Garlic itself has health benefits + the foul ordour will keep 'viruses' away.
Indian Almonds has not much benefit fm 'viruses' ...trust me "GARLIC" will help.

Unrelated, when living in Las Vegas, a good friend was a bartender in the High Rollers lounge at the MGM Grand. It was not unaccustomed for these players to be comped meals/drinks. One customer ordered "Bird Nest Soup", $400 at the time. It was delivered to the wrong table and the diner consumed the soup. A costly mistake by the waitstaff.
One of the popular beers in Vegas & Mexico is Corona Beer.

It keeps everything away from you including your best friend except the coronavirus. Allicin, the sulfur containing compound indeed possesses antiviral properties against some like Herpes simplex but not the others. It´s antifungal also bactericidal.
If you need a Head doctor go buy real Viagra. Then go see your fake woman who really "loves" your old ass.

Corona is pretty popular everywhere. I never did like it.

The head doctor here only has fake qualifications; & even then, he only prescribes fake viagra tabs. Rather see one of those traditional healers.
"Corona Extra" pale lager fm Mexico; for some strange reason prices have fallen 25% wonder why? I picked up 2 six packs yesterday hope the are not fakes!!!!
Cheers

Brew Kettle Witbier is the best IMO. It's from Asia Brewery. Cost less than just about any other too.
Tastes a lot like Blue Moon.
Never liked Corona. One thing is the clear bottles. It gets light struck & skunked.
PD..got it thanks;...on-line orders appear to be available; but not to surigao city...groan!!!
