Annual Report Question

Post new topic

moonunit0103

Hi,

I got my Visa extended 6 months this past week, and noticed I was charged an annual report fee and research fee.  Along with the extension paper taped to my passport (no Visa stamp), I also got an exit clearance.

I had inquired on this forum and folks said I did not need to file a report, since I am on a tourist Visa, but BI must think otherwise.

I also found this news article:. https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1226290/b … cov-threat

So, which is it?

I just went to SM North Edsa BI office and got my 2 month extension and applied for ACR-I card (Tourist) renewal and they kept my ACR card and told me to pick it up in 3 to 4 weeks! Nothing said about Annual Report and no fees on my receipt! Not sure now if need to go again for Report! LOL

When they gave you the exit clearance did you show a out bound ticket?

The article from your link says

"all BI-registered aliens who are holders of immigrant and non-immigrant visas to make the annual report within the first 60 days of a calendar year."

That is exactly what BoI says on its website and it is what you were told here.

I suggested that since you are new to this you might pop in and ask the guard just to set your mind at ease and you never know what else you might learn.

I do not think they should have charged you for an annual report, as you are not subject to it. Did you ask them about it?

when you stay longer than 3 months you need to take ACR and pay annual report

If they extend their visa a couple of times in the year that fee is charged just once?

No outbound ticket.  Got my Extension in Lapu Lapu BI office.

WOW
I have an expired one but need to get a new one for March so maybe when I pick up my ACR i will see if they will just update mine! It's only a month past the expiration date!

The amount was not enough for me to make a return visit.  I was happy to be in and out in 20 minutes, and did not read the receipt until I got home.

On the way back to Cebu from Lapu Lapu the cab driver said business had fallen off a good bit due to not having Chinese tourists around.  Many folks are dependent on tourism for their living.  Hopefully, the coronavirus will burn itself out soon.

It would be nice to have a mask.  They are sold out in Cebu and in Ormoc City.  Hand sanitizer is also in short supply.

a 30 PHP bottle of isopropyl or ethyl alcohol works

and people are wearing masks as they buy produce and meats that have been sneezed and hacked all over

lasvegan

Masks are mainly for keeping germs and virus in

lasvegan

The CDC in USA says that the coronavirus is expected to join the regular flu and common cold and return annually

lasvegan

Yes, thanks to a lack of containment. Hey CDC, thanks a million!!!

Used to be, people arriving were screened, and some were quarantined.  Now, civil rights and making money is more important.

If they were really afraid of it they would have done more.

How many people outside of China actually have it despite lax controls? Not many. Most are Chinese. Millions of Chinese were traveling all over the world for Chinese New Year.

Five million people from Wuhan left the city last week before travel restrictions were enforced.

[link under review]

Yet, to date less than 500 people outside of China have been documented as having the disease. Probably greater than 90% of them are Chinese.

So CDC actions speak louder than words.

lasvegan

According to CDC this virus was actually detect in October and didn't meet the threshold requirements for spreading the news so to speak! Not sure what all that meant!

"Agreed it has always been the money as being more important" than anything else.
