Bom Dia, I'm new to your forum and thank you for hosting it. First and formost I hope that everyone is healthy during this uncertain time.

We are looking for advice on getting a mortgage in Portugal and would like to get your feedback on what's worked for you.  Have you used a broker who found you the best bank or did you work directly with the bank?  Any insight is appreciated, also any recommendations would be appreciated to include lawyers.

I'm sure I'll have more questions and thank you

Hello, we work directly with Millennium bank. Excellent services. We received our mortgage loan within 3 weeks.

Do you mind if I ask if you applied while in Portugal or from another country?  What did you have to gather paperwork wise?  We currently live in the USA.  Thank you!

Yes, more people would like to hear more of your story :)
I have also heard good things about Millennium bank, but still bank elsewhere.

Bom dia,

Obviously you can find a mortgage broker in Portugal, it's called: Intermediário de Crédito, who find you the best bank and this service doesn't costs for the cliente.

Best regards,
Victor

Because of COVID it's not been as easy to find mortages  with favorable  conditions.  I'm a Portuguese citizen but live in another country and just got back the following.  Not accepting applications for second house, or 40% down.  There are still other banks but this is a reflection of COVID 19

We got our mortgage from Millennium while we were in USA. They were quick and efficient.

Keep it coming guys. Who else got a mortgage, which bank, and what experience made?

I would work with a mortgage broker through a realtor you choose.  They don't charge anything to you and find the best rates. They are oaid by the banks when you follow through with a loan. Right now though it's not as favorable because of covid and the economy
