Is it possible to get a residence permit as a freelancer?

My husband and I both work remotely online but would like to move to Greece to live for at least a year.

If you are are member of the EU you can come here until the cut off Brexit date,as soon as you arrive you must register yourself as residing here and you will be issued a beige color registration card, for people who have the card and have been residing here for five years they should go as soon as possible to change it now into the blue residents permit with proof of residency for a previous five years here.I dont know what happens to people with the beige registration who have lets say been here six months only with proof. The Greek embassy or consulate will be able to advise further but certainly EU members who have been living here for five years will exchange their beige card for the new blue residents permit. It may be that a shorter time span will permit the blue card. Its imperative that one has the beige registration card first.

Thanks, but we haven't been living in Greece for 5 years. It's likely we won't arrive until after the UK leaves the EU either given all the current travel restrictions we're anticipating we'd arrive early next year. Although we will try and get there earlier.

Do you know how it would work for non-EU citizens?

There is a five year visa coming in Jan 2021,I know Americans and Australians can have it,probably other non EU countries as well, check on line.

Looking now online I see the following..American visitors and other visa free visitors to Europe under Schengen rule must as of Jan next year must first obtain online a European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) registration. Its not a full visa application but a short online application that should cost around seven euros for three years with multiple entries where necessary.Sixty countries will need this,Brazil,Canada,NewZealand, Israel,Singapore,Its not five years as I earlier read but still better than ninety days if someone wants an extended trip.
