Why go through all the red tape and expense of going to France?  Just get over to St. Lukes Hospital in Manila that is affiliated with the Mayo Clinic.

Less than one week off the plane I had my cataract surgery on one eye and a week later on the second eye. My vision is now 20/15. Before hand I could not even read street signs. The bill came to about $2400 USD total. I put it on plastic and got a 1% rebate when charged and a 1% rebate when paid. The good news it was a new card with no interest if paid off in 20 months, which I did.

Now for some additional good news my wife had cataract surgery at the same time and was enrolled in a study, so her surgery was free, more than free, they paid her consultation fees on the followups.

There is a French guy responsible for the French community in Mindanao. He is based in Davao. I will try to find his name etc.

I think he should be operated in a Davao hospital, closer than St Lukes. Cataract is a very common operation which does not require high level technologies.

Dirk I sent you an MP

It must be a Citibank card... Is it?

Perhaps this person would be interested in reading the "Cataracts and other eye problems" section from the book DMSO: Nature's Healer, which I found at https://dmso-ku.blogspot.com/2016/07/na … aler.html.

in france this will cost a lot less and he will be covered for the costs by french healthcare plan and be garanteed high quality medical care wile beeing surounded by family for the after care.
the operation is not the only reason he seeks repatriation .
by the way, if i needed surgery i wood go and get it in europ to (just saying) ,i had some bad medical expieriance here and made my own conclusions on the local health care here.

My insurance while in the states would have paid for my surgery. It would have taken six weeks to schedule an eye exam. Then another six weeks for the (production line) surgery.

Before I knew I needed cataract surgury , the eye clinic was designated by the insurance company. I was in a crowded room with about 25 people all having appointments. I had my exam and they wanted me to buy my glasses from  them with their inflated prices. (not covered by insurance) I asked for my prescription and I had to pay $50 USD to get it.

Once I needed surgery, the insurance company  wanted to send me back to the same people again. Then I filed the paperwork with the insurance provider to seek a medical provider outside the system and was denied.

Now I had insurance with a private company, not some state run socialized medicine.

Being surrounded by family for after care?

Aftercare:  Under observation for an hour, then you call a cab or drive yourself home, instant sight.

Excuse me, I just couldn't resist:

Surrounded  by family for aftercare? Better order up a hospital bed for his home care and notify the parish priest just in case to hear his confession if his soul departs.
