What's changing in Thailand after the COVID-19 crisis

I'm not sure if any country is truly "post-COVID19" yet.

The content sort of does work though; essentially no one has corona virus in Thailand, with the exception of very few people in quarantine returning from other places.

Relocating to Thailand is a stretch right now, but I did see a story about a significant size group of English teachers from the Philippines being allowed to move to Thailand to teach that language.  In general no one can move to Thailand now though, or even visit, unless they are Thai or have an existing visa to be here.  The Elite card program might include a few exceptions, but not many.  Being isolated is Thailand's current form of experiencing the pandemic.

I think this string needs to be put to bed...Lots has changed and nothing here matters after 9 months!

That pretty much says it all, doesn't it? How often do we get 95% of Westerners to agree on anything? I'm already in Thailand, so it doesn't affect me.

I also live in Thailand and all I can say is none of us are safe from covid19 until we get the right vaccines in. Which are always coming bet never arrive.

The Chinese vaccines are dangerous. We do not want people vaccinated by them. They only have a 60-90% success rate and have many side effects. I have known people who have gotten blood clots and had strokes because of the Chinese vaccines.

The media reports India has 4,500 deaths a day from covid. Do the math.
Population of India = 1.2 billion, divide 4,500 by 1.2 billion and this sums to 0.00000375 %. Now multiply that by 365 for a whole year and answer is 0.00137 %. That is tiny. The news is serious propaganda and lies intended to raise more fear in the people so they want the covid Jab. India is hardly affected by covid at all.

According to suppressed reporting uncovered, VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System), this seems to be the case and the reported deaths and injuries by VAERS has been revealed it is only publishing 1% or less of the true total in the USA NZ Aussie and Thailand.

You are right there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Like how this all happen? Why did this happen? Did the virus come from the Wet markets or a Lab? Why is China sending their useless vaccines to many countries when they have first hand knowledge on how it was created? What is the long term affect of all these vaccines? These and many more questions need to be answered.

Unfortunately, kiwi44 and Roadhog are correct about their assessment of the Chinese vaccines. There is no way this came from the wet market. The Hong Kong virologists who studied this virus have said it was altered like a "Frankenstein" virus. It has genes that were clearly altered and cut and pasted into it to make it more contagious to humans. The Chinese vaccines are dangerous and are the only vaccines provided in Thailand at this time. They have already caused more deaths than they save. One of the major side-effects is the formation of blood clots. This is very dangerous to those with low blood pressure as it can cause strokes. Come on people. Wake up and finally realize that you've been lied to since November 2019.

No it's not post Covid yet...infact the cases are increasing and Pattaya is still kinda ghost town with shops and restaurants closed.

A good update on Pattaya, I haven't been there in 2021 so it's good to have somebody there to report on what's going on. Phuket seems to be opening, but mostly only to locals at this point.

I would like to ask the 94.51 percent of Thais who don't want foreigners back into Thailand a question. Do they have a relative or friend who works at a hotel, restaurant, travel service, airlines, shopping mall, rental car, or any other business that services tourist? Because if they do, I ask them to please consider the livelihood
of their relative or friend. By the way, there were many Thais living in other countries who returned to Thailand, I guess they are all Covid free.

It's funny how this post in July 2020 was about what is likely to change after covid is finished, and now in July 2021 the actual question is if the pandemic can be mostly resolved here in 2021 or not.  My guess is that by the end of the year (2021) significantly over 50% of the Thai population will be fully vaccinated and relatively open travel with vaccine certificates will be allowed.  It's hard to imagine that happening much before the end of December.

There's just no way that Thailand could allow open travel here, even with vaccine certification.  It's probably good that the "Phuket Sandbox" is working on testing that potential out, with a much higher level of vaccination in place among locals there than elsewhere, to offset the impact of the likely spread of the virus.  There's nothing to be done but locking down for the next 4-6 months or so until things change, related to vaccine protection.

If you have been in Thailand long enough, it's never about the government doing what the Thai people want. It's always been about what can the military government make the Thais comply with. Anytime the Thai population tried to do anything that the gov't didn't want the gov't would find a way to force it on the Thai public. Look at their history and how many times the government killed student rebellions by force at the Democracy Monument location. Or how many times Taksin, his family, or people aligned with his party won the PM election only to have it overturned by some coup or made-up scandal.

OK...Lets get back to the question..What has changed in Thailand?

My plan has been allaying to come to Thailand in October of 2021. With that said is this even possible? I want to go to Krabi but how do I get there? Can I fly to Bkk and catch a flight to Phuket or Krabi and then do my Sand Box lock down? October is a long way off but I need to start planning. Any suggestions?

My suggestion is stop planning because no one knows what will happen the next three months. Read thai news online and check with the Thai embassy/consulate in the US.

No way to predict what will happen with lockdowns and being able to fly into BKK. One thing I would certainly do is purchase a ticket that allows for flight change without penalty.

It may be easier to fly into HKT but there are many less flights and you still may be locked out of Bangkok or wherever you want to go.

I am supposed to be flying to Thailand in a few weeks for a new position. My visa and permit applications are being processed. In the next few days I should have more specific information

I watched a tourism video last night that says all busses are set down to and from the south. Currently there are a few busses that go directly from Phuket to the Bkk airport starting next week.. I know lots will change but man it is getting more confusing all the time..

It's not confusing. Everything is about transportation between deep red zones and not deep red zones which is now no longer available. There's only 13 deep red zones at the moment (it might change). 4 provinces in the south, Bangkok +5 surrounding provinces and 3 eastern provinces. There are a few flights from Phuket to Bangkok for people with correct documentation.

Bangkok is a deep red zone and it's almost impossible to get a transport to for example Krabi.

There's no problem what so ever flying to BKK with correct documentation. But everybody still needs to quarantine 15 days at a pre-paid hotel. And after 15 days and if there are still deep red zones,there might be a problem with transportation depending on where you're going.

Terrible time to come to Thailand !!!
Most of Thailand is completely locked down ... Everything is closed except grocery stores..
Don't support the Sandbox when people are dying in the streets in Bangkok because of lack of vaccine.

Yes,according to Thai websites a couple of days ago. But you must have the correct documentation and be allowed to leave. There are also flights to Koh Samui,another Sandbox island and I think to U-Tapao International Airport in Rayong (neighbouring province to Chonburi).

It seems you don't know much about Thailand at the moment. There are only 13 provinces in lockdown (out of 77). Everything is not closed. It's better if you know how to read thai news websites before posting rubbish.

A bit long of a video, nearly 28 minutes. I had to put it on and do other things while it was playing and just listen to the audio. Basically, the thing I got is that the best way to build herd immunity is to build a population who has gotten the disease then recovered. The lockdowns don't work they just prolong the eventual infections as places that were lockdown before are doing the worse now with the Delta variant because they weren't exposed to the original strain. The vaccines don't really guarantee anything as more who have been vaccinated are getting sick more and more often now. However, they are less likely to get seriously sick, but more likely to transmit it to others because they can still carry the virus without having severe symptoms.

I still think the best way to go is to build your own immune system naturally through healthy living and not lockdown and if you get sick let your own immune system deal with it. Unless, you are elderly or have weakened immune system.

That guy, Dr. Z, also told you how poorly he felt after the 2nd dose of Moderna. He was knocked out for about a day and felt awful, then got better. Jimmy Dore got pains and never recovered.  Not something I want to do. I haven't been sick with anything for over a decade and I don't want to have some virus or virus mRNA injected into me. My immune system is not compromised and would not have any problems putting down a delta variant infection.

My GF has had the sinovac vaccine and 17 days later she got the AZ vaccine. For 2 days she still can't get out of bed, too weak. Also fever and pain everywhere. These mixed vaccines are unproven and should not be used until they are.

It's odd how they never tell you about these side effects before you get the jab.
That Dr. Z tells you exactly why the CDC lie to people. They are not in the business of telling people the truth, just tell people what they think will make them do what they want. I have never trusted the CDC or WHO.

Especially those 2 vaccines should not be mixed. The Sinovac is a whole virus where they inject the entire virus into the vaccinated, so you are giving people covid-19 with the first injection then to make things worse you are injecting the DNA of covid into another virus and injecting that into people causing the vaccinated people's cells produce more of the covid-19 spike proteins. Leading to an immune which feels it's being attacked to then ramp up and kill the cells making the spike proteins leading to the blood clots, aches, fever, etc.

Not to mention, that neither of those vaccines protect against the delta variant. So not only is she not immune, but can carry and pass the virus to others and can get re-infected again herself.  As time goes on, it's proving me more right about what I was saying all along.

GF has a government job and is renewed yearly. As her job is coming up soon for renewal she was told that she needed the jabs. Not just her but her whole office needed the jabs. Well, it seems like a bad holiday as they are all out sick.

Everything i have read says 2 doses of the AZ vaccine are pretty effective against the Delta variant. Not too sure about this mixing of vaccines though.
