STVP advice: Should I say in Singapore or return and come back?

Post new topic

shortvisarenewal

I was an EP holder working at a company in Singapore. I was layed off 2 months ago due to covid. My STVP expires in a few days. I have a job offer from a tech company(Base: 7k, Exp:1year, Total Comp: 120k). The company will apply for my EP next week.

Should I leave Singapore and come back by getting an Entry approval? In the worst case the company might revoke the offer if it takes too long.

Or should I ask MOM to extend my STVP while EP is in process. Is this something that MOM does? What would be the process for this?

Thanks for the help.

Under normal circumstances, the 30 days SVP after cancellation of an EP cannot be renewed at all.
Due to the virus crisis, MoM currently extends them in many cases, for example if no flights or other means to return home are available. But I guess this is neither unlimited nor granted without good reason.
However, you are free to try - the worst that can happen is they reject your wish and then you have to leave the country, just as when you hadn't asked.

hi there,

can you please help to inform which MOM office to go to get the special pass extension? employer won't cooperate to apply for STVP. Will it be the one on the bundemeer / the havelock road or the circular road?
