Post new topic

Mathiyalagan sivabalan

Hi I am mathiyalagan sivabalan

Now I am working in Singapore with work pass and I get monthly salry is 1200 and my ipa salary is 450 only, now last week I apply for spass in new company until now is pending, applying time put my experience and current salary is 450 as per my ipa, my doubt is my current salary is 450 but my spass application put for 2900 dollars so my current salry is very low as 450 is there any problem for my spass approvel

You're supposed to get what was put in the s pass application which is 2900 SGD.

You mean to say that you are receiving salary of $450 where your employer declared to MoM as $1200?
Secondly, the same company now applying spass with salary of $2900 but will give only $450?

How come you didn’t raise this earlier to your manager and company HR. This is illegal and if caught MoM may blacklist your employer. Don’t repeat the same wrong things happen to you, now. Speak to them.

On spass approval part, MoM can see there is something fishy here that a person was paid $1200 per month but now employer wants to pay more than double to your current salary. They won’t approve such kind of request. Good luck

I interpret the OP’s message as: WP IPA says S$450 but he actually gets S$1200 (salary increase?) and now another company applied for his S-Pass at S$2900.
In this case there is nothing wrong or illegal.
Whether MoM would approve is another question, which only MoM can answer.
I hope the OP will come back to report it here!

Yes it’s legal, I read few points incorrectly. But, I never come across a scenario where an employer declared to MoM the salary of $450 but paying actually $1200. It happens other way round where employer doesn’t pay what it declares to MoM.

Secondly, new company applies for S pass with salary declaration of $2900. MoM will definitely look this case suspiciously, unless during this period either the candidate acquired new certificate which allows his job scope demands for S pass (this is a positive case) or else now the candidate declaring his certificates which he didn’t declare earlier (this will draw negative attention).

I agree that a payrise from S$450 to S$1200/month is a lot, but both are still very low by Singapore standards - and many employers do not report payrises to MoM, so it is normal that actual pay is higher than what MoM knows.

Hi ,

So by having 1200 dollars am I eligible to get in to Spass?

beppi

@darshudarshini221 The current minimum salary to be eligible for an S-Pass is S$3000/month.
