Singapore Dependent Pass

Post new topic

ginnylim01

Hi, my hubby’s Employment Pass approved on Dec 1, 2020.  We have a daughter whose birthday is on dec 31, 1999 and she will be 21 after Dec 31.

We tried to apply Dependent Pass via online but system showed ‘ERROR: applicant must not be more than 21years old.  But, she still 20+ years old and not reach her birthday.

Anyone encounter this issue and has similar case?
Questions:
1. can we submit application manually?
2. What is the Dependent Pass validity if approve

To be eligible for a DP, a child must be UNDER 21 years old.
That means your daughter is theoretically eligible until 30.Dec.2020.
Even if you manage to get it, what is the point of having a DP for just three weeks?
She could just enter on a tourist visa (STVP) and stay for a month instead!

Exemptions exist for older kids, who are dependent for other reasons (e.g. mentally or bodily impaired). They can get a DP at older age. If this applies, you can contact MoM directly and explain the situation.

@beppi Do you have experience that such exceptions are granted? Is it worth contacting MOM (the case I mean is ASD)? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Expt22: I have no experience with this, but I assume that the child must be under your legal guardianship (as with minor children) - he/she otherwise isn't a dependant.
