Can a foreigner marry a Moroccan soldier?

Hi, everyone,

I was searching online for informations about this subject but I couldn't find it... Hope you can help me.

I'm a brazilian citizen and I want to marry a military maroccan man, and I want to know if this is possible?

If is possible, what do I need to do?

Do I need to ask for maroccan citizenship before marry him or beeing a resident of Morocco is enough?

Yes, you can marry him, he just shouldn't be married in the first 5 years after recruitment I think.

No, there is no difference at all, the royal gendarmeries is like the other military branches, however if he is a high ranked officer ha may expect some short investigation.

Hi Isaamita,

There are no restriction so long as he has permission from his end to get married. So if he is allowed to get married then you don't have anything to worry about the process of getting married is the same process for any foreigners getting married in Morocco. There is no website but you can ask him to go to the local family court in his home city and request a list of documents to get married so that you both can prepare a list. @Amine Yahia Amine, there are plenty of cases where this is acceptable. It's more the other way round a foreign military can't marry to someone in Morcco without certain permission. But to marry in to a Military or services member or even a civil servant like a police, in Morocco yes more justification are required but can be done with the approval by the judge. Extra check for security measures are required and will be conducted on a case by case bases.

If the court rejects then you can appeal the case via the lawyer but no where in the law does it say you can't marry anyone service member.

@JBB23 My bf told me after 15 years serving in millitary he may leave and can marry a foreigner too,but before no,only if u are moroccan then u can marry him after 5years. its really hard but i will wait for him
