Hello, Iam working in Saudi Riyadh with profession in Iqama as electrical technician. Last December I was not allowed to travel Bahrain through causeway because of profession and when I applied for visa online they rejected couple of times.
if I have invitation letter from Bahrain company with chamber stamp for Electrical Audit will officials allow me to enter Bahrain ?
Saudi immigration will not allow you to exit in the first place unless you can show them a visa for Bahrain. Since the causeway opened, they are creating a lot of problems for even expats exiting Saudi - unless they can show their Bahrain visa or residency proof. I have to show my Bahrain CPR every time I want to exit Saudi.
And if you go through, Bahrain is not allowing lower professions for visa on arrival anyway - again post Covid changes. A letter from the chamber won't change that. Get a visa. Forget online, you will never get it. Ask a company to sponsor one for you.
What do you mean by company sponsoring visa? Can you please explain, and brief me the process to get one.
Do you know anybody who can sponsor me? I can pay them the amount for sponsorship.
A company issues a business visit visa for you under their sponsorship - similar to process in Saudi. Or a family visit visa, if you are related to an employee in that company.
You can google document clearing agencies and call them - some of them can probably help you with this.
So you don't advice me to take a risk and try to cross through Causeway without a valid visa and that Chamber stamped invitation will not be helpful to convince immigration officers.
Well you can try. Nothing is set in stone and all depends on the mood of the officer at the causeway.
Hi dear..did your problem solved? I am visiting Bahrain since 10 years..my profession is also technician. I visited Bahrain yesterday after gap of 1.5 years.
Bahrain immigration didn't allow me to go Bahrain. 🥴
If you notice, I have already explained clearly that you will NOT get visa on arrival in Bahrain unless you have a high profession. Forget the past, this situation is new.
Thanks you dear for reply. Only higher profession allowed? Any idea which are those? What about draftsman ? Is it allowed ?
As far as I know: Engineer, Doctor, Manager, Accountant etc. Basically white collar professions above the junior level. I very much doubt that draftsman would be allowed. My Iqama profession is Marketing specialist and Saudi immigration every time asks me if I have a Bahrain visa......guess even these are not allowed.
HI, obtaining exit re entry visa from Saudi will be possible to enter bahrain?Or there's new visa required that should get from bahrain only?
Thank you
Bahrain gives visa on arrival. Read this thread. All has been explained before.
It depends on the Nationality. For example for the Turkish people they are not giving visa on arrival. So, I got trough online application or/else trough embassy.
Kind information.
So far, Turkish, Pakistani and Bangladeshi. For Indians, Sri Lankans etc., you need to have high profession on Iqama.
If you have an official passport , I guess you’ll get visa on arrival. However while return will saudi allow you to enter remains a question.
If you have Iqama, pcr test within 72 hours and fully vaccinated; no issue entering Saudi. As I said before, I am travelling weekly.
Would they ask for iqama if I have a multiple entry valid visa?
Also, what happens to your tawakkalana status once you enter Bahrain. Mine is green, would there be any change upon exiting KSA?
No change in tawakkalna IF you are vaccinated. It remains dark green. But if status is no infection ie light green.... If you are not vaccinated with recognized vaccine, it will change and also you won't be allowed to enter back from the causeway.
And multiple entry visa is fine for Saudi but you would need a visa for Bahrain in advance.
I think with official passport they give visa on arrival. It’s officially cleared.
I don't know about your country requirements. You can try your luck.
Hello,
My profession is production engineering technician, whether I need visa to enter Bahrain via cause way. I am having multiple exit re-entry.
If I'm not allowed whether I can pay on cause way to get VISA?
Tomorrow I am going. Please clarify.
Thanks
You will have to pay for a visa on arrival in any case.
Hello, today i called Bahrain embassy and they said they dont issue visa on arrival anymore, everythinv should be be online regardless of the position in iqamma. Is this true? Anyone travelled recently?
We have had discussions on this many times - search the forum.
Visa on arrival is still in place on the causeway. Some nationalities are not being given visa on arrival despite Iqama profession e.g. Pakistan, Bangladesh etc.
Hi, I am working in saudi arabia, my iqama profession is Quality specialist. Can somebody tell me why engineers and accountants can enter bahrain without visa?
Why they can enter without visas? ask the GCC governments. They see engineers and accountants as being higher level jobs / professions. And the visa rule has been put into place accordingly.
@eliesonmike High professions are allowed without visas just enter from border with stamp. they are free of charge. but other professions they charge 5 bd. this is government rule.
One correction, higher professions are ALSO given a visa (it's not visa free entry). You just don't have to pay it. Only visa "free" entry is for GCC nationals.
Difficult to say. Rules change everyday. If from Pakistan or Bangladesh, no.
Should be ok but I can't give any guarantee. Go and try.
@XTang ok thank you .
if anyone travelled recently with computer technician profession kindly reply here

Why are you not applying for a 1-year Multiple Entry Visit Visa for GCC Residents? The cost is just 44 BHD. No need to worry about rule changes or payment each time at the border.
@topinsight01 i just need to visit one time . no need to visit multiple time thats why
@XTang hello . I raised enquiry on tawasul bahrain and they replied that computer technician can get visa on arrival and no need e-visa
By the way, carry the Tawasul response print out just in case. A friend of mine, who was a daily traveler to Bahrain, in 2021, was refused visa on arrival. This was prior to the Eid when they suddenly decided to only let in Bahrain residents and GCC citizens, without any announcement. He went back and got confirmation from NPRA or Tawasul (don't remember which) and went the next day. He was again refused and then he asked for the officer name, showed him the print out, was sent into the room on the Bahrain side, had a discussion with people there and was let in.
The point I am making is that as per rules, you WILL get visa on arrival. But having said that, on the causeway, more so than airport, I have seen so many weird things happen that it is better to be safe. And I have seen it all i.e. Saudi immigration not letting you exit without a Bahrain visa (during Covid, they even stopped me from exiting saying that Bahrain is only allowing citizens not residents.......I held my ground, had them call Bahrain immigration before I was let through), Bahrain refusing visa on arrival to even non-labor professions at times and at others granting it to labor professions etc. The best story by far is of a Bahraini female friend who was refused entry into Saudi during 2015 because she wasn't traveling with a "mehram"..........she pointed out that this is a rule for Saudi women only......but the officer wouldn't listen.....she waited in her car for 2 hours until the shift changed and was able to cross without any issues!!!.
Mainly because it is very easy to refuse entry on causeway - at the airport, the passenger has to be held, the airline has to be notified, a seat arranged......and all the while, the passenger is there screaming and trying to talk to everyone and anyone.......so your decision had better be justified. On the causeway, it is just a u-turn .
That is why I said earlier "Should be ok but I can't give any guarantee. Go and try".
