I know you all have talked about this before. But, I haven't seen anything recently.

What are some of the best services for getting money to a cambio or bank in the DR from the US.

Thanks for your input.

Are you sending it for pick up or to a bank account?

We use Remitly for monthly transfers from our US account to our account at Banco Santa Cruz. If you want to do a pick up or bank with Reserva, there are other options.

This site offers great comparisons of different services: https://www.monito.com/send-money/unite … ic/usd/usd

We use TransferWise, they've recently changed to Wise.  Very easy to move money from the US to Canada or the DR.  Mind you, our funds are paid directly into TransferWise, I'm not sure how easy it works to get the $$ into the system, but to move it from there, to the DR into our US$ account with Santa Cruz takes 2 days and costs $10.  I'm sure if you're American, with an account in the US, using TransferWise is easy enough.  You get a bank account and all the national and international transfer/wire codes you need.  To move $$ to the DR, you need an Intermediary Bank, which TransferWise doesn't support, but I've found putting that info into the "Notes" field has worked multiple times already.  Plus, they tell you upfront how much things will cost, other than what the Intermediary Bank may charge, but so far, it is $10 for any amount we have moved.  I should add, friends have done the same thing with ScotiaBank in the DR.  And they also have multiple clients to pay out, via TransferWise, as well.  I have also moved money from PayPal (US$) into TransferWise, and moved it here for less than PayPal charges.  Much less than PayPal charges.

You can use. World Remit from USA and Canada.   Both currencies.
