If you believe them ... sorry to say I don’t as I am convinced the numbers are being manipulated in order to get cyprus into the uk green category as the British High Commission here has been actively seeking and persuading the same for Cyprus they came down too quickly and coincided with the color categories

Nb just my opinion

Sadly it looks like the efforts have failed as we are not going into green for  a while yet

Still too many people mask-less not sanitizing not distancing, ignoring protocols... and I include tourists that are arriving, I fear they dont realise the current protocols apply to them as well as locals.
On saturday I heard two talking and saying "look at these people wearing masks outside"  i dont think they realise there is still a €300 fine for not wearing masks and failing to observe the protocols

shotokan101

Absolutely ridiculous behaviour

Jim

Despite the numbers improving here I am still perturbed at the number of people who still think its ok to not wear a mask when entering and moving about in an indoor venue and not sanitizing either.... however they are carrying a mask in case they get caught and running the risk of a €300 fine????  But they are also fine with the staff having to as a must wear a mask to work.....and be tested 1-2 times per week to do so

Do they not realise that not everyone has had even one jab never mind two

jakemurphy

Yes Toon, its the same in Larnaca..They are trying to dodge the Police all the time, by carrying the mask on their wrist.

Unfortunately I have found its an inherent trait amongst Cypriot people, in that they dislike being told what to do by the authorities. I have many Cypriot friends, and they seem to be anti everything, anti mask, anti vaccine, anti 5G, anti speed limits.

I know its off topic but there is one couple I know (in their 50's), and I have been in their car a few times, and they drive like race drivers, no respect for rules of the road or traffic lights or anything else, and they are constantly moaning about speed cameras and penalty points and having to wear masks etc.

O Gosh don't get me started.. Ill leave it at that..

Toon

Yeah I agree that what you have experienced is  very common

For us living in the little Britain that is Pegeia it’s a common trait for those living and working under the radar as they generally don’t like the rules of the country they chose to live in

Hi, what are the rules/restrictions in Paphos ,  are many shops, restaurants & bars open ?  Ty

Toon

All bars and cafes shops and restaurants are open .. masks must be worn outside and when moving about inside bars until seated and when going to the toilet. Sanitizers to be used on entering and exiting.... no serving or seating at bar no bill paying at bar.

Jabs or test evidence required to sit indoors....

€ 300 fines if caught
