MEO or NOS Bundles

Hi all,

I will be settling in my new place in Portimão in October and am wondering which TV/Internet provider has the best overall coverage. While I?m looking forward to learning Portuguese and listening/watching in Portuguese, I also would like to have European, UK and North American news content in English. Any suggestions?

Obrigada

Hi LorieAnne,

At the moment there are 3 options to have TV and internet at home: Fibre, ADSL and Satellite.

- Fibre optic has dedicated lines, guaranteeing the best TV and internet experience on the market.

- ADSL uses telephone lines and therefore internet speed and TV quality is lower.

- Satellite coverage is available in areas without any cable connection. It also has lower internet speed and TV quality than fibre.

Fibre optic is the best technology to have internet and TV at home, but it is not available in 100% of Portugal. The majority of parishes/municipalities in the country already have fibre network, but many areas are still waiting for the installation of this network by operators.

Therefore, you should get information from the telecom operators or get it online, to find out if there is fibre coverage in your place of residence.

It seems to me that in the whole Algarve, only NOWO does not have fibre coverage there.
