Please suggest good agencies to rent a car while I buy one for permanent commute.

Also suggest genuine dealers to buy excellent condition cars

Where are you living Malta or Gozo?  You cannot purchase a car until you have your residence card.

I live in Malta and I do have residence card

In Malta is Volkswagen, Toyota and Opel. If you want to spend less there is Skoda too. In case you want a second hand car look for dealers who are importing cars from Japan. Japanese second hand cars are often better than cheap cars from elsewhere. The decision is yours. Just have a look at the yellow pages of Malta where these dealers are located. I live in Gozo and got my car from the local Toyota dealer.

Cars are not imported from Japan!!! You are aware that 99.9% of cars are made in Europe for the European market.

Just have a look on the website of Autodealers Malta and have a guess where these cars come from. Every day you can see second hand cars with original Japanese stickers. One very popular car is the Vitz which is also sold as the Yaris. The Yaris is assembled in Europe, but both cars belong to the Toyota family and look almost identical.

The sentence that cars are not imported from Japan refers to Austria and not to Malta. In Malta we drive on the left and the same is applicable to Japan. That is the reason why...... Next time you travel from Vienna to Tokyo you will know.
