With costs of living rises etc many Villa owners are now looking for increased rents.. note if you are a long term renter there are laws that protect both you as a tenant and the owner who rents to you..

Rent increase in Cyprus

According to the relevant law, a Landlord can request an increase on the rent amount every two years but the increase in the amount should not be higher than the maximum percentage of 14% set by the Law which was then reduced to 8%.8 Oct 2021...

But also note that The Republic of Cyprus has passed into law an amendment to the Rent Control law of 1983(the Law) on the 31st January 2020 making it easier to evict tenants who fail to pay their rent..

What is a statutory tenant in Cyprus?

The term “statutory tenant” means the tenant who is protected by the statute and he cannot be evicted from the premises except in the cases provided by the Rent Control Law, 23/1983 as it has been amended
