Mu friend lost his passport and got emergency certificate from embassy. His sponsor cancelled his visa 1 week ago. Others suggested that he need to get immigration clearance certificate. Can someone explain how and where this can be done..it's urgent

Yes, You need to get an exit permit as you are not exiting with the passport in the immigration records.

It can be applied through any document clearance agency.
