Expats for Entry Level Hospitality Jobs

Post new topic

Is it common for female expats to be hired for entry level positions in Dubai? I'm educated, specifically in Tourism Management and have 2 years of my BBA done- I've been looking for positions in tourism but have been finding it difficult to find jobs I feel I'm qualified for (front desk, along that line).

Did you find that most positions to expats are for management- or am I not looking in the right places?

Unfortunately you're up against 1,000's of subcontinentals and far east asians who'll work longer hours at a fraction of the salary and benefits you're expecting.

So western women are generally hired for management type postions?
Would I be better off finishing my 2nd degree and giving another shot at the job market in a year or 2?

I'd love to take a year off to get some international experience, but am finding it difficult to find positions that still give me time to explore the area I'd be working in.
