Hi all!

Glad to be here. I'm an English teacher from Pennsylvania, USA; looking to be a high school English teacher in China, starting August 2023.

I can speak basic Mandarin and desperately want to learn more. I'm interested in cities on the smaller side, with slow-paced life, nature, history/culture, coffeeshop vibes, etc. From what I've seen, I'm interested in Chengdu, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Nanjing. (I was in China very briefly in 2019 and loved Wuxi. I'm not a partyer, and I really want an authentic experience where I can learn more Chinese language and culture, so nightlife and huge expat presence are not important to me.) If you can recommend similar locations to these, let me know!
