How do you get mail if you live in the dominican republic?

Scroll down and there is a thread "Mail Forwarding companies?". Look there.

Please use the search function. This has been covered a dozen times at least in the last year.

Mine comes to my gate.... once they figured out who/where I was

If you are asking about mail from outside the country or buying things on Amazon there are a number of mail services in the country. There are at least 4 or 5 I know of in Santo Domingo.  They all will give you an address in either Miami or New York and that is the address you would use.  Anything coming to that US based address would come via courier or bundled and sent via the airlines to Santo Domingo and you would go to the office to pick it up.  Some do offer direct delivery to your home or apartment as well.

In terms of anything else, Postaldom has gotten better in the past few years but ALL service providers (telephone bill, electric bill, water bill) always sent bills to your home via private delivery service although in recent years they have been pushing for email delivery of bills rather than physical hard copy.

If you want to send anything in country I would suggest Domex.

John
