Partnership Visa under AEWV for Teacher

Good Day Everyone!

I'd like to seek for everyone's knowledge and expertise to advise on my current predicament.

My partner was offered a job in New Zealand under AEWV as ECE teacher. The offer was $26 but upon checking in NZ immigration site, the median wage for AEWV holders to bring their partners on a working visa is $29.66. Is it possible to get approval from immigration where her salary is lower than the median wage required whereas her job is categorized under tier 2 green list role?

And if ever my partner AEWV get approved, is it possible to bring me on a working visa given her salary is below median wage? I read on immigration site that teachers are not under lower skilled AEWV thus I wonder if she will get approval given the current offer.

Cheers!

For her to qualify in that application, she/he will need to make the required amount. Your partner needs to negotiate for that wage to qualify. Otherwise, they may need to stay on the "work visa" until they can get that wage up or find another employer who will honor the required wage. The Green List is for pushing those on Work Visa's through to permanent residency. So, the partner can still accept the job offer and work on the work visa, while getting themselves up to a qualifying wage for green list residency.

Hope that makes sense. Basically, you have two phases you are in no matter what; work visa then permanent residency. Work visa can be provided in 2 weeks time, btw. Its turn over to be approved can be fast. Sometimes. But the permanent residence can take longer. However, with it being qualified as a role on the green list, you can get that 2nd phase within months instead of years. But you would still need that qualifying wage regardless for phase two.

My pleasure. I'd have them still accept the offer (try one more round of negotiation, or if they can tier the raise to match within a year), and get yourself to New Zealand. Congratulations on the opportunity!
