Beware of IKEA 🫤.

So, we've been shopping for some new household items and I paid with my WISE card (great currency exchange) but IKEA  charges a crap exchange rate then adds a 5% margin.  Discovering we ordered an incorrect item, after the return I was shorted $38CDN in refund, within 20 min of the process.  Now IKEA Bavaro has to call IKEA head office in Santo Domingo and will get back to me in 4-5 business days.

Moral learned:

1. Don't purchase anything at IKEA in other currencies, only peso.

2. Don't trust IKEA, and double check your receipt.

We'll see if I get my money back. I'll have to check my past receipts for this too.

All stores,,, not just IKEA

Always pay in pesos

I always pay in pesos! My bank has much more favorable exchange rates!

I’m sorry you had an issue with IKEA.

Hello everyone,

The member has had a bad experience with shopping at IKEA and we are sorry to hear that  but It doesn't seem fair to open a thread with such a title. Customer service of the brand should be contacted or you may send a review to the brand itself.

I am closing this thread.

Regards

Bhavna
