advice On apartment rental short term, safest area , budget to travel around the phillipines. Total duration 1 month.
thank you in advance
Gulshan
Hi gulshan.
I suppose you need to let members know where you want your base for one month to get any credible feedback, sure the Philippines is small compared to India but it is larger than the UK and here you have many different regions and over 7,000 islands while most are safe, not all, your travel advisory to the Philippines will give you a guide and for accom let your fingers do the walking on google, my best friend.
Your budget is your limit but I would allow 2K US for the month if you are travelling around, more with flights.
Good luck and hope you find your answers.
Cheers, Steve.

Adding on the good advise of Steve, if you're exploring, instead of looking for a one month lease a good choice would airbnb or hotels
Thank you, I was thinking of Manila or cebu as base. I am senior citizen and bypass patient my budget is approx £2000. 🙏
Well your budget is plenty but Manila and Cebu are like 1,000 kilometers apart, best to have a decent travel plan and as Bob said book your first few nights and then wing it,,,,, as we do as a visitor exploring. book your next destination online instead of locking up one arrival destination for a month.
Can I ask do you have any idea for an itinerary in the Philippines? Which islands/destinations?
Cheers, Steve.
I think Cebu would be a good choice since there are many smaller islands in the vicinity and Bohol is not too far away and easily reachable by ferry. You could also travel up to Oslob from Cebu and maybe take a ferry to Siquijor.

Bypass Patient?
This must be some concern to you or you would have never mentioned it.
There probably other Expats on this forum beside myself who has had bypass surgery and find it no hindrance to our normal life.
I had bypass surgery and two months later moved cross country, east coast to west coast USA. That was 19 years ago, then I needed stents about 10 years ago. I'm sure your Cardiologist has prescribed meds for your daily living, so bring them with you.
Also know your limitations and don't exceed them.
For Cebu, when I drive up to the city for a one niter I stay at Alpa City Suites. It's a hotel with decent rooms. But not in a high dollar market. I asked once for a friend because I think it's a good spot for a one month stay and to use as a base. I believe they said it was 25,000 php for a month. Now, that imo is well worth it for what you get as a base. Refrigerator and kitchen sink included. Obviously AC as well. Good cable tv connection. Good wifi.
My first trip I stayed for a month at the Heritage Downtown Manila, don’t remember Price.
Second trip in a upper class area of Manila called Rockwell, Nice Condo unit attached to the Power Plant Mall, I think it was somewhere around $1500 for 6 weeks at that time.
Then when I relocated here I got a condo in TAGUIG BFG area for 25K a Month, both of these last two places are middle to upper scale and safe, but I would advise as most anywhere after dark just mainly go to tourist areas like malls etc or go back to hotel/condo and just do your exploring during the day...

Curious to know was that the Joya Lofts & Towers Vehicross? Stayed there many times up until a few years ago. Did you know there is an underground walkway to the Power Plant Mall from the Condo?
I saw a video the other day with a recommended itinerary for a one month visit to the Philippines (Kristi Travel Escape). It looked like a good one to me, starting and ending in Manila with visits to many beautiful places by air and sea. It was a case of a few days here then move on so not so sure you will need a home base.
I am not sure $2000 will be enough for this though.
@Larry Fisher thank you will check it out
@Cherryann01 thank you , I am looking for 1 metro city and few surrounding areas budget can exceed sterling 2000
@bigpearl thank you , I have choice to fly direct to cebu or Manila , which city is better for first visit to phillipines?
@Lotus Eater thank you

LOL but only my opinion neither as I dislike cities in saying that there are limitations for international flights so most of mine are Manila or Clark.
I think I mentioned before that you need to work out where you need to land with a given itinerary of only one month. I have been knocking around here for 13 years and living permanently for well over 4 years and have not scratched the surface yet, never even been to Mindanao.
Honestly? Depends on your ambitions here in PH. the girls, the sight seeing etc. 1 month is not long so as said you need to google and find what suits you then pick your airport. Island hoping go to Cebu, girls and nightlife Clark if you can or Manila and then a 4 hour drive to Angeles City.
Question what are you actually looking for/expect from a 1 month visit?
Cheers, Steve.
@bigpearl thank you for reply, i found out emirates flies directly to cebu then on to manila, i am not much into nightlife, i just want to get the feel of the country, i am us citizen of indian origin presently living in dubai.. i guess i will take it one day at time. thank you !
@gulshan555
You can leave your polyester shirts in Dubai Gulshan. They don’t lend themselves to the hot sticky climate of the Philippines
@Lotus Eater never use polyester shirts, my clothes come from brook brothers usa and marks & spencer UK only..
I am allergic to polyester fabrics. FYI
@gulshan555
I am allergic to polyester fabrics.
So are Filipinas 😉
@Lotus Eater thanks for heads up, i really don’t care who is allergic , my vietnamese girlfriend is joining me minus polyester clothing!

I stayed at Residencia Isabella when I worked in Cebu. They are located at Rosillos Street, Talamban, Cebu City. They allow short-term stays, which was important to me. The area is very close to a university, so it's safe and there are plenty of places to eat. There are jeepneys and buses, but I usually take a motorcycle taxi to avoid heavy traffic.
@georgemiller. Thank you for your feedback. Will check it out
Hi there! I would highly recommend booking accommodations in areas like Makati, BGC, Ortigas, Cebu City, or Davao City. These areas have good infrastructure, transportation, and plenty of entertainment and dining options. Have a great trip!
Thank you , any particular apartment you can suggest in bgc or makati thanks🙏
@gulshan555 When it comes to popular apartments in BGC, you can check Avida Tower One Union Place, Forbeswood Heights, or Uptown Ritz Residence, depending on your budget. For Makati, The Beacon Makati, Trump Tower, and Knightsbridge Residences are well-regarded options. Base your choice on your personal preferences and requirements.

Sorry to seem cynical but I asked you before what you were selling, no response but now the ball is out of the court, colours revealed. I assume you are the listing/rental agency for these expensive products? Why not simply place an advertisement in the classifieds and focus on the less gullible in say a mall or your office?
Your rhetoric has not gone unnoticed and I'm still waiting for my answer to an earlier question, what are you selling that you ignored. I'm sure after my small sojourn into this foray that the moderators may review your contributions.
OMO.
Cheers, Steve.
@bigpearl Sorry I didn't see your question, but to answer it I am not selling anything I am just giving my recommendation based on my own experience and also feedbacks from my family and friends.
@Marysmith0901. Thank you this information helps a lot !
