School for Kids transition from NZ

We're Malaysians living in NZ who are planning to move back to Malaysia.

My son is 7 years old this year attending Year 2 in NZ. I'm planning to enrol him with one of the international schools, did anyone have any experience with transition from NZ to Malaysia? He'll be 8 years old when he starts school in Malaysia.

I've seen his daily learnings in NZ and does not seem to be similar to UK/Malaysia syllabus and I'm worried that he won't be able to cope.

Anyone has got any experience with this?
