National Holidays and Festivals

Post new topic

With the recently concluded Memorial Day holiday here in the US, and an upcoming festival here in my home village in Vermont it got me wondering- what are the national holidays in the DR? Are some businesses still open during these holidays or does everything close down? Are there any local or national festivals that celebrate different aspects of life (our festival this upcoming weekend celebrates the Dairy Industry)? Anything similar to a County Fair/Field Days?

WE have a boatload of holidays here............. As an employer it makes me crazy.

We have  gov't holidays and  religious holidays.  Suffice to say  everything closes 1 day of the year, Easter Friday.  Everything else is fair game.

The other times alcohol sales is shut down is for elections. We just had them so we are good for almost 4 more years.

Today is one of the religious holidays. They have set dates and are not changed.
