small size farm near Puerto Vallarta?

Post new topic

This forum is a real blessing!
We would like to move to the area around PV. We are both musicians (Bass and cello) and would like to play professionally as we do in the States. We also want to grow our own food, chickens, rabbits, fruit, etc.
Do people farm and have gardens in the PV area? It seems most of the real estate ads feature condos, high rise apartments and big $ price tags which wouldn't work for our lifestyle or pension.
Is it possible to find a small farm of 2-5 acres around PV? Where we could get into the city for gigs?
We visited Lo De Marcos and loved the simplicity but it is quite the commute to PV....Thanks for any feedback.

I would resign myself to renting something while you look around.  Anything listed on the Internet will be more expensive than what you'll find in person. To buy, that much land is not going to be cheap and I assume with a decent house.   There's a lot of flat land out highway 70 behind Home Depot.   Might try Gregslist Mexico or search 'terranos puerto vallarta'

Hi SparksMex...Thanks for the two tips. Nice blog BTW!
We were thinking of finding a plot and putting in a 30' YURT...I'll do some more research online on those two things you mentioned.
We were hoping to come down from Oregon for 2 weeks in July or August and look around. If you have any leads feel free to drop me a line. Thanks again. Gerry

Not sure how they are about links to other message boards here but if you search 'message board vallarta' there are two or three that have people living in Vallarta.  I live 4 hours south
