Santana - SP : any info on this neighbourhood?

Post new topic

Hi everyone!

I currently live in SP but we might have an opportunity to move to another bairro called Santana, I wanted to know if any of you have lived there and what are you thoughts on it?

I like places where I can leave my house and go by walk to commercial, restaurant, groceries, etc. Of course, not interested in a ton of criminality too.

Thanks!

Emilie

Hi again Emilie,

Sorry that I won't be of much help to you this time. Although I lived in São Paulo for many years I rarely went to Santana and know very little about it.

It is a large commercial area, so you won't have problems finding supermarkets, shops and the like. It should be fine for getting almost any kind of service or activity you want too.

Not sure about the bairro as far as safety goes. And from the news reports that I've been seeing since coming to Macaé in June it looks like I got out of São Paulo just in time. Scary business!

I hope one of our other members can fill you in a bit more about Santana than I can. Keep me posted on your progress.

Thanks :)

Hi again Emilie,

Have you considered doing a virtual tour of the Santana neighborhood on Google Maps - Street View?

You can do it without leaving home and it can give you a bit of an idea what it's like there. Just a thought.

Will check this out. It is indeed a great tool, but I kind of wanted to know more about the atmosphere.

Hi Emilie,

I'm sure you will find that Santana is much like any other bairro in Zona Oeste of São Paulo, not at all unlike Pirituba where I lived. In Santana you will find that there will be a central commercial area where all of the shops/stores and businesses are concentrated and the rest of the neighborhood being residential; houses and apartments. You will also find some small secondary industry there too, but it isn't really an industrial area. It's not going to be anything at all like much classier neighborhoods like Itaim Bibi, Morumbi, or the like. It is an upper middle class residential area.

Cheers,
