Moving To Edinburgh As A US Citizen

I own a successful arts business in the US.  I want to open a branch in Edinburgh and move there with my family. All I read on the internet is how difficult it is to get a work visa unless you are invited by a Scottish business or have a very highly desired job skill.  If I register my business in Scotland, open a bank account and show that I have financial means to support myself, is it easier to then get a work visa?  Is there anyone with experience that can help answer this?

If you are running your own business you need the entrepreneur's visa not the work visa. See http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas- … repreneur/

If it works out please let me know.  All I am trying to do is to retire there.
