Can anyone tell me what to do?

My girlfriend decided to follow me to Malta to work/study here.
I was wondering.. if she doesn't find a job right away, how does she get a social security number, insurance or health care (if she doesn't have an own income)???
Does anyone have experience with that?
Can I include her in my insurance (at work) or do we need to me married for that?

Thanks in advance.

Hi scareglow,

I don't think you can, you will only be able to include her on to your SS contributions if you're married or if you can proof that you have been leaving together in Malta for 2 years or more.

My advice is for you to contact the Social Security Department here in Malta, and try to get a more accurate information. You can find the different contact numbers HERE

Good luck!

thank you very much..
she got a job offer yesterday, so that's no problem anymore.

That's great news! :top:

Happy to know that you're sorted now!

All the best ;)
