residence permit vs work permit

Dear all,

I have residence permit this blue little book till next year. It was issued by the company where I work now but my contract finishes soon with them. What will happen to my residence? I am planning to look for another job so I don't know what will happen till I find another job.
Does someone know?

I think its still valid till next year, but not sure if u r allowed to work somewhere with ur resident permit
