Hi Everyone,

I have just moved to Istanbul and I am living in on Asian side in atasehir - I am here for work for 6 months and would appreciate if I could get some guidance as to what activities are available nearby.

Also I am not sire if the public transport is feasible or is renting a car a better idea. I do have a shuttle service for work so the car would only be needed over weekend so not sure.

Hi there...

It all depends on your interests... The area is a new area so there are a lot of options...

I have been living here since August and is using taxis at this time to get around for shopping etc.

Let me know what you looking for and I can possibly point you in the correct direction or maybe find a couple of places that I have also not yet experienced.

Hi Jan,

Thank you for the reply - I have been a little trouble with the bus service and have been relying on Taxi which I think is best option. I see you have cricket in your interests, any place nearby that shows matches? Have nothing on TV with cricket on. Also, what's the nightlife in the area like? Any recommendations are appreciated.

Hi Azafark,
Generally taxi is not a good option as it is expensive and unreliable (sometime) specially if your turkish is not enough. Best place for nightlife is Ortaköy & Taksim which is quite far from Ataşehir.
