New way to pickup on Spanish and really need a pet classified?

Dear Forum Members,

I have sent a majorly important post (separate from this) that I hope will garner some answers but want to change the subject to something I've found to help in learning Spanish, especially the phrasing and have one other question...
First though, I made mention one time of my complete inability to follow "spoken" Spanish after listening for a month or so to my internet lessons which covered the use mostly of the masculine and feminine pronouns and verb conjugation only to find that when I got on the phone it all seemed so fast and for the first time I understood what it must feel like for the millions of Spanish in my country who try to adapt.  I think learning the language is easy but a lesson on tape or via internet leaves one comprehending at a very slow pace.  Having found that there are some 70 channels on cable tv here for me, many are English, many are Spanish but a great deal are English with Spanish subtitles.  I can sit all day and enjoy hearing the spoken English  word (especially reruns of shows I have watched plenty of times like Law and Order SVU) and the Spanish subtitles are awesome as I try to guess the Spanish wording, adjust to why it's either not what I expected or (as it crosses the screen at a pace one can read), find that I am actually picking up more this way than with online lessons.. Just an FYI.. I find this very helpful.

NEXT QUESTION so as not to totally overwhelm the boards today.... I mentioned that I am (after losing my incredible best buddy dog of 12 years) now only ready to obtain a new puppy.  I chose my unit based on being allowed to do so.  I find that even tough I moved here to be able to exercise (pool 20 feet away) and see how much this environment would help my health, I was originally going to wait and get a new puppy in my hometown when I return for doctors appointments midway through my trip.. I am finding however; that I truly miss my puppy more here than at home... Perhaps because I could visit my grandbabies and my former grand dogs, as I was basically their caretaker while I lived with them...I was advised when I posed this question many months ago, that I should wait until that trip home,,, but the decision to wait was really based on being concerned about this being my first airplane trip with my new scooter (what if they didn't allow it even though new FAA rules do so)... How much help would I need, etc.  I know that on my trip back, I won't be taking so much luggage, etc., so the puppy carrier and a purse would be my only carryons... I was further literally teased by circumstance when shortly after arriving here, I met a neighbor's Maltese (my choice is either a Maltese or preferably a Maltipoo which is a mix of the Maltese and a toy poodle)... The very next day, a long term owner at the beach had a beautiful fluffy white poodle and if there was a pet store anywhere in the vicinity, I would have been there the next day.  I have googled my very  best Spanish and found one site called OBX?  and found a maltipoo in Santo Domingo but I would assume requesting they deliver it here to be a big favor.  I know I will have to get the proper vaccines to take it into the US but these two countries as easy as they are to visit for people are pretty easy to take pets (just the vet cetification that the rabies vaccines are current)...
With that said, is there anything like the American "PuppyWeb" or perhaps a Craigslist type of site with lots of pets... I wonder does anyone know of a pet store in the Punta Cana area as I have not been able to locate one via Google?  The local vet was more than happy to provide me with a Chihuahua, but I was able to explain I must have the hypoallergenic breed.  I am shocked at how well I feel (other than getting over my "insect intruder" issue on my other post today).. and really think I could do well by the puppy getting him use to this environment.  Any thoughts to this issue very much appreciated.  Seriously if anyone lives in another area where they know there is a maltipoo, maltese or a pet store that has one, I would be willing to pay freight or cost of delivering the puppy.

Thanks in advance as always to any of my questions... Loving this paradise....
