Hi ladies,

Does anyone know the cost of the coil and having it put in?

I had my 2nd daughter in March and haven't yet sorted contraception. I used to use the pill bit had weight problems with it and I did want the mini pill but they don't provide it here in Malta.

Thanks in advance!

Hi when I checked with St James in zabbar it costs about 300€ But I heard there was a free system at materdei where you buy the coil from the chemist (I think it's about 90€) and the doctors at materdei fit it for free, maybe you could ring the hospital and find out for sure?

Also if your wondering about how it is fitted it's the same process as having a smear test done but when they are down there they fit the coil!! If you type in the mirina coil in google it will tell you all about it and how it is fitted :) it is a little uncomfortable when it's being fitted but after that it's fine :)

Might have to stay with the pill until I'm back in the UK for an extended holiday next year!
