Hi, Im Brian and currently living in the UK.
I have need for some unusual advice regarding my plan to retire to Gibraltar and hope someone can offer reliable guideance as to my ultimate future. Apart from Gibraltar my other great passion in life is my Motorhome and for me
the chance to live and retire there in my Motorhome would be the answer to all my prayers.
As I am a fit and healthy 62 year old I could also look for some part time work if necessary although I would be financially
independent if need be.
So the ultimate question has to be 'Is there anywhere in Gibraltar I could park my future home (legally) and over a long period of time?
Alternatively maybe rent a small piece of land privately depending on cost?
Any help or advice (good or bad) would be very much appreciated.
regards to all

Hi

You cannot live in a campervan or caravan in Gibraltar it is not allowed by law.

Land is like golddust in rarity and value.

Sorry but you had best look elsewhere or if you are determined to live in Gib it will be in a flat.

Hi, thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
Looks like it will have to be a boat then, unless moorings are just as rare
No, I would not be suprised..lol

Hi Brian

Travellers are disliked the world over although I personally respect their ability to flick a V to corrupt Polits. You could buy a day van and move it around as it is not obviously a home but judging by the boredom of the Police I doubt even that would work, The boat is a great idea if you have deep pockets however.

I have just come back into Gib and there are lots of camper vans littered around the boarder in Spain.   Walking in and out for an Gib fix and shop is easy enough and you have the expanse of Spain to explore which is very beautiful and getting cheaper by the day as the Euro drops in value against the pound :)
