Hi,

I have a question  and I ask mostly medical staff for help.
We are two medical students (last year) from Czech Republic and we are looking for opportunities abroad. Im planning to specialize in the field of surgical pathology and my girlfriend would like to specialize in surgery. I have found only the UK Foundation Programme that is suitable only for clinical staff, but what about pathology? Who provides residency or postgradual education? We will be grateful for any advices. Can you tell me anything about the level of health care and medicine in Malta?

Thank you very much,
Honza

Hi, I would think it's best to contact the Medical School directly. I am sure they offer a pathology residency, however, you need to be aware that the med student intake is very large in Malta (around 300 a year) made up mostly of foreign students. Whilst many will return home for specialising, it still  leaves a lot to filter through the specialties so I would think places are rare but don't hold me to that!

Thank you very much for your advices. I´ve tried to contact someone in the Foundation Programme and also in the University with no success. I will try to find more information somewhere else.
