Owning and running a Trike and Driver in the Philippines.

Post new topic

I am interested in hearing from anybody that owns a Trike (with or without a driver)

I am interested in the:

* Pro's and Con's?
* Initial purchase price?
* What the drivers monthly pay should be?
* Licences?
* Insurance costs?
* Running and ongoing costs?

Thanks in advance.

I would appreciate any assistance on this topic if you have owned a trike for personal use.

I see that no one was able to answer your questions. I have relatives who drive tricycles. One of them has been driving since before I met him 15 years ago.

The guy who did a lot of my welding also fabricated side cars for the tricycle drivers around here. Probably hundreds. He stopped last year due to health reasons, but his information is still current.

If you still want to know I can find out.

This may not help very much but if its for someone else best beware!
I had given the downpayment for one set Trike (15t pesos) to a relative, in order to help him earn some extra pesos to feed his family of 8.
All he had to do was to pay me 100p/ day till i got back my capital (i.e : 150 days interest free)
a)  He bought a used Motorbike (fm seller A) his cost 80t (deposited 10t)
b) Used side Car (fm seller B) cost 50t (deposited 5t)
All I know is he paid me 100p for 20days
(Which I had to chase him for) So I got back 2t after 4 months.
*he lost the side car to (Seller B) in 6months due to him defaulting his monthly payments.
*I am quite sure he will default payment on the motorbike fm (Seller A) very very soon (and will end up loosing the motorbike too)
& Now I am the *bad guy in the family whose chasing him for the bal 13t pesos which I will very unlikely get back!

Thanks

Fred

Dude, never lend to family - Doesn't matter which country you're in

I agree. Never lend.

Figure out the ones that are deserving and give.

Thanks Fred...A little too late now, but I have learnt my 'not too expensive' lesson.
