Becoming a citizen in South America

Post new topic

Nemesis5

Hi all,

I'm looking at my options to immigrate to South America.

It's possible to permanently live in Ecuador with an investment of 25,000$, either in a local bank account or trough buying property.

What about other countries in South America? Any other offering similar deal to reside there permanently?

Yud

Welcome on board Nemesis5 ;)

For you query about Ecuador, I will suggest you to post it on the Ecuador forum for more visibility!

Aren't this talking about Ecuador???

Nemesis5

yes Yud, but it was not a question. I use Ecuador as an example for my inquiry...

hello nemesis,

paraguay has no formal program where you must purchase land or other approved investments. you simply obtain legalised documents from your own country and then have them legalised by a paraguayan consulate/embassy in that country.

after this you can come to paraguay and submit your documents, open a bank account with a usd5000 balance which is used as a security during the permanent residency process which takes approximately 6 months. after this the money is free for you to use as you like. you must show the ability to support yourself and after you receive permanent residency you have the same legal rights as paraguayans and can participate in any business you choose.
three years after receiving your cedula (permanent residency) you can apply for naturalisation.

further information is available on the paraguay forum.

kind regards,

Wow great info! Seems to be a  pretty straight forward process.

Many thanks!!
