I am a 32 year old female and for the past few years I have been thinking about moving to Cabarete/Sosua for a minimum of a year. My current plan would be to attend a Spanish school for a month or so, so I could learn and get familiar with the area/language and culture. From there I would like to find a condo/house to rent. I am currently a realtor and am wondering if its something that I would be able to continue with in  the Dominican? I am wondering if anyone knows how that would work in terms of getting licensed there and is it easy to get a job working for a company?

My next question would be do you think it is a better option to just make the move or to just try it out for a few months on a non-working visa??

Welcome.  Yes read the various threads here with lots of information.  You do not need any license or experience to sell real estate here.  Most of the major companies like expat agents however NONE of them will provide you with a work visa.  And is it is very difficult to work here with out your residency and cedula.  So for a short time visit I would say it is not probable
