Can someone please tell the truth about the cost of renting a two bedroom apartment in this area the prices on those youtube videos seem unrealistic with all the expats comming to mexico,come on mexican landlords are much smarter than that.

The cost is going to depend on what part of lake Chapala you choose to live in . Look on Facebook lake Chapala rentals, Look at local real estate agencies rentals. That will give you a more realistic idea of different towns and costs.

Those Youtube videos are now a few years old and prices have gone up since then. The days of $300 rentals are pretty much over. Realistically you are looking at $550-1000. Like the other poster suggested, look at rental agencies to get a feel for the prices. I sent you a PM of all the agencies that do rentals.
