Post new topic

Lea Andrada

Hi all,
I am a newbie here and i would like to receive some your ideas about which Auto website in the Philippines is safe for Filipino to buy a used car.
Ofcourse, i want to talk about well maintained cars with a good price and no scammer too.
Here are several websites i know via my friends:

1) Olx.ph
2) Philkotse.com
3) Carmudi.com.ph
4) Carfinder.ph
5) Tsikot.com

Frankly speaking, i prefer Carmudi most, has anyone same idea with me?
Does anybody know other good sites for car listings ?
If you have ever been scammed, please share your experience here.
Thanks in advanced  :top:

All of them are good for locating a vehicle you might like. Then you need to practice due diligence. These are expensive items, people with a lemon are trying not to lose money and you are trying to get a good deal. Get your vehicle of choice checked by a qualified mechanic, take it to a dealership and get a quote on bring the vehicle up to your standard. You can often get this for free, but if you pay then it is good for peace of mind.

You shouldn't be buying a used car online. You have to drive it and inspect it first. Pictures can easily hide defects, like rebuilt from a wreck. :o

Purchasing a used car should be a borderline actuarial exercise. The car is the patient, you’re the actuary, you’re trying to decide how to price the thing. You need to know its ownership and accident history. You need to have it inspected. Unfortunately no single website offers all of this information (at least, not one that’s nationally available quite yet

Both time I found a car that a bought Olx. But be prepared to a long process - about 3 of 4 sellers lie about even basic things such as “yes, sir, it’s 4WD and original paint”, but when I come to see it (spending 2 hours in Manila traffic and 500+ pesos on Uber) - it’s clearly 2WD and clearly repainted (even with spots).
You may have to travel to a large city such as Manila or Cebu to find anything good.
