Is it too early to look for a new job

Hi guys,

It's been around 9 months since I've been working in Steel product manufacturing Co. in Dubai.

I thought that getting job abroad will take me one step closer to my dreams but unfortunately in the company where I am currently working there is no future growth & the culture is totally unprofessional. It's like I am degrading myself everyday instead of learning new things.

The accommodation provided by the company is very dingy & old. They have kept me in a sharing apartment but the room has half wall. So there is no privacy. Just like this there are plenty of reasons to crib ( Which is not the right way to deal in life though I have dealt with such cases for more than 9 months).

I seek help through this platform that someone can help me or guide me to what step should I take as I complete One year in this company. I want to work in an organisation where there is a chance of individual growth & little fun.

The company has given me a good designation but I am afraid all I am doing is clerical work and it seems there is no silver lining in this firm. Keeping track of documentation is not what I studied for. As they provide accommodation & travel the salary is very less to survive.

I am open for your valuable suggestions.
Thanks.

What you just described is a typical problem for most in dubai now. Finding the right company where you did work and enjoy what you do is something that is indeed hard to find. But on the other hand they are individuals also walking around dubai looking hard to have a opportunity like yours. The irony of life huh.

The advise i did give to you is, keep looking for other opportunities that you see fit to you in other companies. I don't know what is written in your contract but if you do find a job at a company operating in the freezone then you will not have any problem leaving your company now. However, right after the completion of your one year and you do find a different job, all you have to do is give your company a one month notice of your resignation and i think that would be it.

Aside all that know that it is challenging in finding a job in dubai, so make sure you have another job to go to before making any decisions. And keep on applying on the many job sites and looking through various companies websites for vacants.

life can be hard in dubai if you are in a job that does not give room for growth, but don't give up, keep doing what you are doing now and slowly you did enter into a company that you did love. Remember the more experience- in this case (time spent in one company) increases your chance in getting to another company.
