Hi,

We are planning to shift to Malaysia and the office would be in Seri Kembangan (Taman Sungai Besi Indah). I have a 4.5 year old and am looking for an affordable international school. Can you please suggest some schools and areas to stay?
I don't drive so I need to be near to public transport. Does schools in Malaysia have transportation?
I am looking for school within 1500/2000 per month.

Gravitas

Schools do generally have transportation - otherwise it is possible to arrange a regular taxi service through the school.

This one http://www.gmis.edu.my/ has a kindergarten class and a reasonable fee structure http://www.gmis.edu.my/gmis-feesstructure.php

Tanarata is in the same vicinity - http://www.tanarata.net/ Their fees are similar http://www.tanarata.net/index.php/acade … lment/fees but has classes from age 5+

The Kommuter line stops at Serdang near Taman Sungai Besi Indah so you could live somewhere along that train route. Otherwise  there is uber and grab

Seputeh is also on that train line and is a popular location for Indian nationals with easy access to Brickfields (Little India shopping) and there are a couple of shools there too - Global Int. Indian School and Havil or Vikas

Thank you Gravitas.
I will check those the schools.
What about vikas international, Giis and ELC cyberjaya . I am looking for some information regarding travel. Since office is in seri kembangan can one travel to these schools everyday? Is there any place midway where we can stay?
How easy it is to get Admission international schools in Malaysia

debo11

Sorry. I didn't read  your whole post.
I see you have already given me details about vikas n Giis. What abt cyberjaya?

Gravitas

There is very little public transport in Cyberjaya so not really an option in my opinion. The nearest station is at Putrajaya but that is not on the Kommuter line so not convenient for Serdang area. Cyberjaya is a long way south of KL/Brickfields.

There is a bus service between Serdang and  Cyberjaya but not sure of the frequency.

EDIT - checked and no suitable timetable.

Thanks a lot!

Gravitas

I just updated my last message with info about  a bus route for you to take a look at - please check.

Timetable http://www.cyberjayadts.com.my/portals/ … ec2017.pdf

The bus service does not cater for morning journey north towards Serdang unfortunately

Gravitas

Some schools have waiting lists.

Something to be aware of when vetting fees is to compare the other charges apart from tuition. They can be rather exhorbitant.  They include sign up fees, deposits, intake testing, uniform, food, equipment, etc. etc.

Thanks a lot Gravitas for all the help!

Hi Debo11, need a small help from you regarding this topic. We also will be relocating from India to Seri Kembangan area in a couple of months. We have a 5 year old daughter and are searching schools for her. May we know where did you take admission for your kids? Also, based on your experience, can you suggest a few schools within a fee range of 30000RM per annum all inclusive. Looking forward for your response. Thank you in advance.

Hi my son is going to be 5 years this Oct and since most of the school starts from sep and for year1 kids should be 5 years, he is not eligible for year 1.
We are planning to admit him into small kindergarden now and will go for big school next year.
Which area are you planing to stay? If near to seri kembangan, then Tanarata is a good option.
if near to KL, then you will have m,any options like sri deshmash etc. There are two inidan schools vikas and GIIS in KL.

Gravitas

Tenby takes 3 yr olds and in a convenient location

Thank you for your reply Debo11. We will be staying in Seri Kembangan area. Tanarata is actually one of our shortlisted schools. We have mailed them asking whether they accept new admissions in August. We haven't got a reply from them yet. Other than Tanarata, do you have any idea on the quality of education in Global Modern International school, Kajang? We tried to find a few reviews about that school but we haven't find any. Also, we would be more than happy to hear any other options from you with a fee range of about 1500-2000 per month.

Gravitas

Looks to have an Islamic slant but a visit would determine whether or not this is so.

Thank you Gravitas for your reply... Please do let me know if you get any updates about any school. Thank you once again for your help
