Residency permit through Property in Bahrain

Post new topic

Hello, I have been thinking of applying for residency in Bahrain and see that the property route is a very attractive one. I was looking at the application process and it seems to suggest that you need too have a Deposit Certificate with a Bahrain bank as part of the application (just 15,000 BHD)

Is it possible to open an account through a lawyer or should I go in person to do this? How easy or difficult is it to get a Bahraini bank account?

Any info is much appreciated

Account opening without CPR is a big hassle.  You need to get the property and then go to the self sponsorship section with your documents.  They will then give you a letter or instruction which you can show to the bank to open an account.

However, I would suggest to check the latest requirements with NPRA first, as someone was telling me the other day that since the last two months, they have dropped the deposit certificate.

He wants to open an account in his name - not in yours.  Why would he want your CPR no?

Ok that's good news. I had heard opening the account is difficult so if that requirement is dropped it will make things so much easier.

Thanks for your info and advice, I'll get in contact with NPRA to double check!

So did you double check with NPRA?

If you have the updated list of requirements, you can post here to help others.
