Sure there are, plenty of them. Check the Yello-Pages for ACADEMIA, that´s how Gym´s or fitness centers are called in Brazil.
Membership fee will vary a lot depending on location, equipemnt, etc of the place. Also, most ACADEMIAS offer different memberships. That means you have only access to the activity you book. For example if one just wants to swimm and use the pool, you just hire this package. It´s not like you pay a general membership fee and can use/access all equipment and facilities of the place.
Ask friends and relative, if possible, for recomendations. And visit the places you are interested, before signing any contract.
