Grizz pretty sure you need to be a citizen for BR passport  . Yes more pages and renewed US in SP. Filled out on line and got appointment and was issued in a few hours of waiting. Forget the cost of it at thahttps://br.usembassy.gov/pt/u-s-citizen-services/passport-services/t time.
From Site
We encourage U.S. Citizens to renew their passports even before they expire. To shorten the time spent at the Embassy, Consulates and Consular Agency, we recommend you complete and print all necessary passport forms using the Passport Wizard and bring them to your appointment.

You must complete and bring  Form DS-11 if any of the following are true:
•You have never had a U.S. passport,
•Your expired passport has been lost, stolen or damaged,
•You were under age 16 when your most recent passport was issued,
•Your most recent passport was issued more than 15 years ago.

You must complete and bring Form DS-82 if all of the following are true of your most recent U.S. passport:
•Undamaged and can be submitted with your application,
•Issued when you were age 16 or older,
•Issued within the last 15 years, and
•Issued in your current name or you can legally document your name change.

Griz,
Like Tex said.
I renewed my passport in March at the US Consular Agency here in Manaus, handing in the forms that he said.  It took about five weeks to make the round trip from here to the embassy in Brasília and back again.
To get a Brazilian passport, you have to be a Brazilian citizen.  And, if the Polícia Federal here EVER send the naturalization petition I submitted in March to Brasília, maybe I'll be able to give you a "no SWAG" idea of how long THAT takes. :lol::lol:
BTW, the Consular Agent told me that they will no longer add pages to the new passports.  You'll be offered a choice when you apply between a normal one, or one with more pages.  Same charge, just depends on how much traveling you expect to do.

Big Tex, AB3...thanks for the time saving...I will got with door #3 for the win...DS-82...is the DS for "Deep State"....lol....never want to be a citizen only Vote USA. ..kkk... I have a choice of Recife or Salvador for the process, one is safer than the other yet both Port cities...interesting so that means port to port...lol...I think the two I have are Embassies. I'll check it out...I sent the final nail in my Tax coffin on 12 August "Registered " and guess what it sat here in Bahia for 3 days...smdh. ...arrived in the Black Hole of SP on 16 August, 4warded to the  US Mail the same day  and the trail has gone cold....one day I will get my money and then the 16-20 weeks I'll get my amended money...just in time to file 2019 taxes...yeah I know next time file Electronic or Sedex the doggone thingy..
Had a Gr8 Anniversario Festa with the Lady.👄,  had 16 folks, 4 no show so we know who won't get a invite again. ..The Lady.👄 and I combined our ages for the candles on the cake we came in @ 112 years...lmao...it's Wisdom for the Pain...

I know you'll be SHOCKED to hear this, but there's been a sporadic postal strike going on last month and this.  Surprising, I know.  We had a shipment from amazon.com.br stop in Recife, and apparently decide that it liked it there -- they had to ship us another.  So, not surprising about your taxes.  Sorry to hear it, though.
But Happy Birthdays!

Alascana

Thanks AB3, I forgot they Strike for anything....Next a bank Strike due..lol...thanks for the BD accolade..When you use Amazon is the price outrageous with custom and the Brasil added $$$..or are you using Brasil Amazon or US? ...just curious, also I read the Post is going Private...I wonder if it will work any better...lol

abthree

I use both.
US Amazon -- good ol' amazon.com -- expect the price to double, once they figure taxes and freight in.  Not everything will ship to Brazil, but they tell you upfront.  Obviously, with that kind of markup, you'll only buy what you really need, but "really need" can be a subjective thing:  two of our most recent purchases were a replacement battery for one of the Roombas, and ,,, a drainboard!  Not the rack, but the traylike thing that goes under the rack to take the water back to the sink.   I just got sick of the side of the sink flooding every time I did dishes, and oddly, I couldn't find one here.
Amazon Brasil -- amazon.com.br -- ships from Brazil, to Brazil.  Variety is limited, but getting better all the time.  Freight charges, especially to those of us far away from São Paulo, can be high.  And things can get stolen, like the package I mentioned above.  Store selection can be pretty poor here, and probably where you are, too; I can sometimes find things on Amazon Brasil that I can't find here, so the wait is worth it.  They'll let you pay with a US credit card, but for some reason, they won't let you access with the credentials from your US Amazon account:  need to set up a new account, with a different email.  No big deal.

Texanbrazil

Dang guys, what is the time difference there?  I am normally watching TV at 10 pm and off the PC.
Normally get stuff delivered in a couple days from US to Campinas but sits there for an independent contactor to deliver it to Foz 6 days., but always use air service. Last with mail forwarding had a check. It was for $48 cost me $53 to send it here to deposit it by bank app. Heck of a way to loose a few bucks. If I did it by standard mail the check would have not been good by the time it arrived.
Grizz did yo buy that "Kick"? Your pic looks like you would not fit in it.
Got one of those age number days coming also. Candle keeps going out in the beer can though. Happy BDay meu amigo

Alascana

No on the Kick, decided I need Shelter and a beer cooler...lol...

Money tied up in the "Mail" w8n on the big payday then decide on a vehicle, got my eye on a VW Bettle and maybe paint it Mary Kay Pink...lol...no problem on fitting in anything for a Brother knows how to Lean Back and to the side & 4ward...lol...

The party was Gr8 and the Family was Gr8 no incidents ....

Concerned about the Correio Strike .

Hoping the Bettle starts...smh...got a guy up the street working on a Racing Bettle will have him look the thingy over and see what it needs and then work the numbers,

I only need it for when the lady.👄 has a race to run and we need to go a few places as of now the Costco like stores are a quarter of a klic  away.

The Lady.👄 will be starting college and it will be nice to pick her up on rainy nights and let the windows fog up...kkk.

I remember back in my college days a few friends had the Rolls Royce Hoods put on the Bettle's so I am thinking at 112 years olde...lmbo... I am due for a Faux Rolls...I already figured out at 6 ft 1 I need to lean forward,  maybe I'll put a sunroof and some dice on the rear view. ...smdh...and hope the motor runs....if the motor is no good then it aint for me...I think I will do the interior Airforce blue with a speed wing in tow...thanks for the BD accolade. ...Obigado Amigo prã Anniversario pensando. ..

Yes I am having a crisis with this child who never washes anything ...lol... I use seperate utensils and if he cooks or makes it I defer...lmbo......I am good , black beans slow cooked, I H8 the pressure cooker the food allways give me lead in the belly ...lol..kkk.pitting in some sundried beef and maybe some sushi rice...going to research AB3 info on the Post, I read thry are getting ready to Privatize that Sevice, it is like a Dodge with Mopar parts if they Saw the Motor will it run any better...You know after 27 years of working for the USPS,  I cry everyday for the inefficiency here...... good luck with the visit and remember guest are like fish after 2 days....lol...I will visit you for a week for I am a Whale...lol...take care amigo....on the YELLING BE LIKE knock that koko off...and the harmony of up and down and it's like have a flipn even tone, the language is so toned based, I be like take it up a octave. .....I think they have 42 octaves and no bass....just my take...

That's for DANG sure!  We do our best to put off phone buying until we're Stateside, too.  :top:

abthree

My in-laws yell, too - because they never turn the idiot box off!  Doesn't matter how many or if nobody's paying attention, gotta talk over the TV going full blast.
I tell people that Americans trust USPS, they look at me like I told them we ride unicorns to work.  So it goes.
If you're on Brasília time, Tex, it's an hour earlier here:  we're not just north, we're pretty far west.  Only downside:  the banks keep São Paulo time.  :unsure

Texanbrazil

Did not know Bank keep SP time but makes sense.
Even when people on phone (and why talk on speaker???) they speak loud. I ask my wife over and over why.............Standard answer "that's Brasil".
I mentioned it to my Portuguese teacher and she said she had not thought about that, now she speaks in a lower tone...Always thank her and say it only takes one person to begin something different.  Funny story she asked me to be a guest at one of her English classes in the school. She ask the young ones to speak slow and soft. One child asked "Why, is he deft?" I lost it laughing and we had to go over definition of deft. It was great and all had so many questions about the US and especially when I went into Texas mode with you all, yep  and howdy.

Texanbrazil

Always take you BR chip to US with you and put it in the new phone, turn it on and load and apps ad emails. Helps going through customs.

Alascana

Yup, I no understand people walking and talking into there speaker phone and they can hear the other person and I be like traffic, dogs barking and I go what the Heck, I bought the Lady a Bluetooth and like Welcome to the 21st Century , it sits in a corner and I be like get a grip...Technology and Brasil...I love my Bluetooth and cannot figure out why everyone is afraid of Change.....When the Nephew comes over the Yelling starts and I follow with Yada,Yada,Yada...I wonder why the Children are not all deft for MUSIC Blaring, I love music yet everyone tries to 1UpPeR everyone else...Tex and AB3 when I get the VW I am going to put a Glasspac Muffler and let it Run Allnight... I love a good party , yet it is everyone talks over the music and I be like turn it to a audible level I no like talking over anything. I was in the bank being assisted 4 people walk up and the bank employee talks to all 5 of us , I ask what's the deall? He says if I don't talk to all the people feel he is being rude and then I say that's Brasil....lol....flipn Post Office or Black Hole  ....
